The CSO recently published the Consumer Price Index for January 2010. The results have found that prices on average have decreased by nearly 4%. One of the most notable drops has been in utilities and local charges (electricity, gas, landline telecommunications, waste collection & disposal charges), which has dropped by approximately 8%. Services and Goods fell by 4.4% and 3.4% respectively.
