Kush Shellfish is a family run business. It was set up by John and Flor Harrington in 1987. The company specialises in the production of quality Rope Mussels and Gigas Oysters. Its location in Kenmare Bay, in the South West of Ireland, enables the company to produce a quality product. The deep, clear and cool Atlantic waters of Kenmare Bay are designated Class-A, the best possible shellfish-growing classification. Kush Shellfish have a harvesting capacity of 20 tonnes per day, and have an overall annual mussel production of between 900-1000 tonnes and 40 tonnes of oysters. Most of the shellfish are exported in bulk. Kush Shellfish supply live shellfish of the highest quality to markets throughout Europe. Kush Shellfish have a vast experience in the export of live shellfish and in particular rope mussels.
