The well known economist, Dr Constantin Gurdgiev, is confirmed to speak at the next IEA Food and Drink Council meeting on Wednesday February 9th 2011.
He will be giving his views on where the Irish economy is heading over the next 12 to 18 months and what measures our new government will have to take to tackle our economic difficulties. He will also address the implications of these measures for businesses established here.
The meeting takes place in the conference centre in Teagasc Ashtown at 11am till 1pm on this date.
Also speaking will be Séan Hanifin of First Ireland Spirits who will give an insight into this business which is doing very well in overseas markets. He will give a company history, a synopsis of their overseas market penetration and which customers they deal with in each market as well as a summary of the challenges and opportunities facing the brand in the coming years.
His presentation will be relevant to food companies, as well as drinks companies, because First Ireland's business is in the 'off trade' channel.
Finally, Bobby Love of Landmark Haulage will give an overview of their business. This Portadown based business is well regarded in FMCG due to its keen pallet prices and flexibility with customers.
If you are the owner of a Irish based food / drink business, and would like to attend, please contact Godfrey Lydon to reserve a place.
